This highly specialized filter combines the warming effects of an 81A Filter with the striking effects of a Polarizer. As demonstrated in the photos in the front, Moose's Warn Polarizer increases color saturation and removes reflections while warming the image. This combined Polarizer and 81A Filter helps remove reflections from objects such as foliage and water via the Polarizer, while bringing the colors back to the film's 5500K° rating via the 81A. When using a camera with a split beam metering system (a metering system that employs a polarized half mirror) which is most of today's auto focus camera bodies, traditional linear polarizer's will cause exposure errors do to their light absorption properties. Circular polarizer's yield the same optical effect while not causing exposure problems with modern metering systems. For many years, polarizer's have been used to remove reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass as well as being used to darken blue skies to increase contrast in scenic photography.
